The 10th Anniversary Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

In 2017, Veuve Clicquot wanted to add a new level of fun and style to their signature NYC event, the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. So, in partnership with the New York Times and their creative arm, Fake Love, I helped write and oversee a 60-minute live stream that played on the front page of the Times.

The content included a 28-minute polo match, interstitial footage hosted by the star of Pretty Little Liars, Lucy Hale, an introduction with Neil Patrick Harris, a live performance by Alicia Keys, and pre-recorded segments that highlighted the event's three focuses: fashion, food, and polo.

Execution Type: One Hour Live-to-Tape Program / :15 and :30 Online Video Ads / Prerecorded Content Pieces

Role: Writing and Creative Direction

Team: Matt McGregor-Mento, Marion Lange

STYLE SEGMENTS – We filmed three different videos detailing how people attending the event were choosing their outfits. We then showcased these people in their final choices at the event alongside our host, Lucy Hale. For a variety of reasons, these videos are password protected.

Polo is pretty unfamiliar to most Americans, so we were asked to make a film that provided some of the facts about polo in an entertaining way.
